Solid dark orange is ideally what you want to see. Where it is lighter orange there is still 2G coverage but it isn't as strong and may affect your tracking experience. 

According to ONE NZ 2G will possibly be getting switched off at the end of 2025.

The difference between a Microchip Pet Implant and our GPS Unit is that the microchip for pets is used merely for authentication of a lost pet, If you find a lost pet you should take it to a Vet who can read out the personal data of the owner with a specific reading device.  A Microchip has NO tracking capabilities therefore you can never see the whereabouts of your pet. I suggest $20.00 The credit on the simcard is valid for 1 year after loading so this means you will need to top-up within the year. Please go to the shop or dairy and ask for a $20.00 vodafone top-up. You should receive this along with your receipt. I find the easiest way to top-up is to type in google: Vodafone Top-up and you will see a link: Top Up-Vodafone-Fastpay-My Vodafone click on this link and fill out the form and click recharge voucher as the top-up method. Unfortunately you will not receive a confirmation through text as the sim is in the device not your phone however a page should come up with a green box to say Top up Successful and have the number you have topped up.  Once you have purchased the GPS device everything will be ready to go. All you need to do is download the app and charge the device.
